Hmmm, I am not a techy at all but what I do before I upload pics to the blog is to;
1. go to 'my pictures'
2.double left click on the file which contains the picture I want to open
3. right click on that photo and select the 'open with' option, which, for me, is 'Microsoft Office Picture Manager'
4.Select the 'edit pictures' button in the tool bar at the top.
5. On the right hand side select 'resize'
6.Click on the empty box above 'resize' to select a choice, I usually go for 'web small'
7. Click on 'O.K.'
8.Click on 'Save'
9. Close that window and go to the 'browze' thingy (where you upload your photos to your blog) and your picture should be the right size.

Alternatively,if wordpress tell you what size they want the pics to be, you can still go to 'edit pictures' and then, again on the right, select 'crop'. It will show you the size in 'pixy things' as you edit. Don't forget to save once your finished.
