I’d love to be seen as Minerva – a goddess of knowledge and wisdom ;-) – who would not??… but I guess I am mostly perceived as a Sangrona – a besserwisser – in a definitively unflattering sense of the word :-(((.

And by my daughter as a Peter Pan! :-) , with a maturity and spirit of a very curious thirteen year old <sigh … nobody is a prophet at home, I guess>

I am currently traveling through an early – mostly working –  retirement: moving about once a year, between places, countries, continents, cultures, languages. Between seas and mountains, between big and small cities, villages and jungles.

(Nota bene, I decided to use English – or my own peculiar variety of it – as this blog’s language, despite the fact that English is – chronologically – my fourth one – because it is the most widely known even outside English speaking countries, so I can share my musings with all my friends, whatever their native language, since they all understand English.)

I have been expatriating ( as well as “expatriating”, since I feel like I have more than one patria  – Sweden and the USA being – in a sense – my foster patrias: each of these countries giving me opportunities that Poland – and the other foster-patria could not ) and traveling  almost my entire life, or, more exactly, since I have been able to leave Poland, the then communist country of my birth, whose government has been keeping me – and most others – hostage during all my youth (what an incredible waste!), denying us free movement, free speach, free thought….

So when I finally started moving, it feels like I never stopped anywhere for a longer time.  Right now I am in the process of moving from the Georgia (US) mountains to Puerto Rico.

Would you like to come along for a ride on my merry go round?

I’m on board, with the option of buckling my seat belt, and am as excited as I was when I took my first roller coaster ride.
The wheels are in motion and I am privilged to be here.
    Jak życzyć ogólnie szczęścia- Minerva-
    hope I got that right,
    with love,
    Zooms.

Lol, zooms, thanks a bunch. I am touched!
And amused, because, if you wanted to ask “how to generally wish happiness” in Polish then you undoubtedly got it right. But if you wanted to say “good luck, Minerva” it would be ” powodzenia, Minerwo!” (no, “Minerwo” is not a typo, Polish grammar often requires changes in words in declination and conjugation). Short, sweet, easy to pronounce (lol) and without all those strange Polish characters.;-)

What an interesting life you are leading, Minerva! If you ever pop down to Dominica, please let me know so we can meet.

Thanks, Jen. And yes, I would love to visit Dominica – you desrcibe it so lovingly. But I’d be happiest if my visit coincided with you building your green roof. I’d love to see it being created. I am such a fan of those!

Aah, where are my manners : you and my other blog friends / no matter their age, gender, nationality, race, religion, political leanings or sexual orientation… did I forget any of the politically correct disclaimers??? – if so, just add them here) will at – almost – any time be welcome to come visit me in Puerto Rico, take some sights, a dip in the ocean, have a silly chat or a serious conversation, and sample some food …

(I usually hide this side of me, posing as a “serious professional who has more important things to do than slave in the kitchen” ;-) , but I have been described as a “lazy healthy gourmet cook” when I bothered enough and occassionally I even dabbled in hobby cheese making – trying to make goat cheese and famous Polish sheep cheese oscypki…and got rave reviews ;-) ))).
